The thing that has most people smitten with The Plucky Squire is the number of different gameplay features seen in the trailer, including a fighting mini-game and sidescrolling shooter just to name a couple, along with the gorgeous mixture of art styles.

These friends discover the three-dimensional world beyond the pages of their book. You'll follow Jot as he traverses this mysterious new world, switching in and out of 2D and 3D to solve different puzzles and defeat the villain Humgrump. The Plucky Squire follows the protagonist, Jot, and his friends. There were a few nifty titles, but it was The Plucky Squire by developer All Possible Futures that ended up stealing the show, a brand new action-adventure game that has players take on the role of Jot, a storybook hero who leaps out of his world into our three-dimensional one.Īccording to the game trailer's description, the villain of Jot's book doesn't seem too fond of being labeled as such, kicking him out of his own book to rewrite the story. Devolver Digital's yearly showcase was just as bonkers as everyone expected it would be, but that doesn't mean we didn't get to see some pretty great games.
